    Green Supply Chain Employee Involvement on Performance of Manufacturing Firms in Nairobi County

    Purpose: The general objective of the study was to determine influence of green supply chain employee involvements on performance of manufacturing firms, in Nairobi County Kenya. Methodology: The study was informed by Social Exchange Theory, Transaction Cost Theory, Resource-Based view and Resource Dependency Theory. The research design for this study was an explanatory survey research design; this is primarily a positivism approach. The population for the study will constitute manufacturing firms in Kenya. Thus, the unit of observation was 516 procurement managements from 516 manufacturing firms. The research employed stratified and simple random to select a sample of 225. This study used structured questionnaires to collect data relevant to the study. Descriptive analysis such as means, standard deviation and variance. Findings: Linear regression models showed that green supply chain employee involvements have a positive and statistically significant influence on firm performance, highlighting their essential role in enhancing performance for manufacturing firms. A strong partnership with suppliers and specialized expertise in green supply chain management are crucial for this improvement. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends that organizations commit to ongoing education and engagement of their workforce. This includes regular training programs that inform employees about sustainable practices and their importance to the company's mission. Additionally, implementing recognition and reward systems for employees who innovate in sustainability can enhance engagement. Policymaking should also include mandatory training on environmental responsibility and a structured program for employees to propose green initiatives.

    Procurement Ethics and Corruption: An Examination of Italy and Zimbabwe

    Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the procurement ethics and corruption: an examination of Italy and Zimbabwe. Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries. Findings: The study on procurement ethics and corruption in Italy and Zimbabwe reveals significant contrasts between the two countries. In Italy, procurement processes are more structured, with stringent regulations aimed at curbing corruption, yet challenges persist, particularly in the enforcement of these regulations. In contrast, Zimbabwe faces more profound issues with systemic corruption deeply embedded in its procurement practices, exacerbated by weaker institutional frameworks and lack of transparency. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Principal-agent theory, institutional theory & ethical decision-making theory may be used to anchor future studies on analyze the procurement ethics and corruption: an examination of Italy and Zimbabwe. Organizations in both Italy and Zimbabwe should implement robust ethical training programs for procurement officials to promote integrity and accountability. Findings: The study on strategic sourcing's impact on cost reduction in Australia and Bangladesh manufacturing firms demonstrated significant positive results. It showed that strategic sourcing led to notable reductions in procurement costs, enhanced supplier management, negotiation, and risk mitigation strategies. The findings underscored the importance of aligning procurement strategies with organizational goals for sustainable cost reductions and competitive advantages in the sector.
